An exquisite work of metalsmithingand design from Peter Schmid of Atelier Zobel. On a skillfully, form-fitband of sterling silver, the artist carefully adheres its surface with touches of palladium. From the graces of deep, ashen gray to almost a pure alabaster, Schmid playfully devises the palladium against its burnt counterpart. What unfolds is a beautiful combination of monochromatic color as it runs across the core of the piece in contrast and movement. Trailing down the center is a fine line of sparkling diamonds, eloquently balancing the composition. When worn, Schmid's work is a perfect comfort, elegantly undulated to the curvature of thefinger, as if made for that exact wearer in mind. Admiring the eccentricities of the piece, one is taken on a journey of the senses and of the soul.
